Just Another Thinking Error
by Yeri
We here, who are sharers, the community of Qumran Bet, are dedicated to finding and doing the will of YHWH and therefore are obliged to separate the Holy from the profane. We cannot honor secular or heathen ideologies by spending our learning and teaching time in pursuit of other mighty ones.
The ancient Greeks were enthralled with such worthless flights of fancy. Many even in our modern day are unable to distinguish between Platonic philosophy and the supreme wisdom of YHWH’s clear commands. Men have always sought to rationalize their own will and purposes. They happily invent thinly veiled intellectual fantasies. Many, even today, consider the founding fathers of these United States as mighty ones who valiantly spoke words of great wisdom. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Freedom is folly unless we have come to the maturity and awareness of our dependence on self regulation. The Hebrew nation taken out of bondage in Egypt did not inherit the fullness of the promises. They were not yet ready to deal with the scope of the personal responsibilities this freedom or even careful land management would entail. Only after this generation with a slave’s mentality had passed and after the new generation became perfectly knowledgeable were they given the opportunity to take this land by force of arms, paying for it with their own blood.
There was no flaw in their resolve nor in the extent of the their conquest. They took only what they, as a people, needed to found a viable nation. They did not see themselves as the saviors of the world or a new world power with a mission to spread their truth and deliver freedom to all nations. This was a misguided ideology that came many, many generations later.
This megalomaniacal delusion then took hold and was seen as an enlightened vision by many a foolish mortal. Two major religions and any number of governments have adopted this ill conceived philosophy. Today we are accosted by enthusiastic zealots of this humanistic vanity. We in love, pity these blind adherents but at the same time we wish to have no commonality with this a most intriguing thinking error.
The people who carry this mark are not bad people but we are very aware that THEY, not WE, are responsible for their corrupted thinking. Please let it be known we recognize one savior, one path to the fulfillment. It is not to man and his dreams that we turn. We look to YHWH and to doing His will as our source of redemption.
We openly choose to have it His way.
